Degree Show Design

I've been drawing up a few ideas of how I could display my aprons at the final degree show. I would like the aprons to come out from the wall so that the back can be seen as well. I think this can be done with wooden dowels protruding from the wall on which the hanger with the apron on can hang.

One finished Apron...

I have done it...I have finished one apron!! It has taken some time to perfect it and get it right but here it is...

There are so many processes involved in the making of my aprons including:

• Vacuum Packing Veneers
• Laser Cutting Edge squares 
• Cutting Plywood Squares in guillotine
• Screen Printing Squares on Fabric
• Screen Printing Design on Fabric
• Glueing squares to fabric
• Sewing Squares between Fabric
• Sewing Edging round apron
• Making Button holes

The next apron is well on the way...only three weeks to go until all the degree show is up!!

Final Herb Print

Here is the final screen print for the Herb Apron...I drew it from the herbs that I made a still life from. I decided to add a block of colour behind each herb to add an extra colour to the apron and to emphasise the print.

Screen Print

I decided to do a bit of a still life for the screen print on the accessories for the Herb Apron. Here are a few shots of the picked herbs which I then hung to dry out.

And here is the design...I will print it round the half-round accessory so that it looks like the herbs are hanging around it. I also need to consider doing a block of colour behind each herb.
